2023-07-31 - It is possible that all or part of this instrument originated at First Baptist Church, Brantford (S. R. Warren & Sons, 1866), later moved to Queen Street Baptist Church, St. Catharines, by an unknown builder in 1892. The St. Catharines *Daily Standard* on October 19, 1911, reported that a church in Welland was planning to obtain the instrument upon Queen Street Church's acquisition of another used pipe organ, from St. Thomas Church. The obvious Welland church to have acquired the organ is St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, which dedicated a new organ along with renovations to its sanctuary in March 1912. Unfortunately a description of the new instrument, which evidently featured a detached 2-manual console, was not included in the reporting of the church's reopening. The casework of the organ was reused (and later modified) in the Casavant Organ, Op. 2036, installed in 1950, and it is likely that at least some of the pipework was reused in this new installation. -Andrew Henderson
2024-01-22 - From *The Hamilton Spectator* (March 6, 1912): "An element of main interest in connection with the opening services was the hearing for the first time of the splendid new organ presented to the congregation by one of its members, Mrs. Glasgow, as a memorial for her husband, the late Dr. Glasgow. This instrument was built by the Warren Organ Company, of Woodstock, at a cost of approximately $2,000, and its capabilities are not exceeded by that of any organ. Miss Hamm, of Dundas, the talented musician, who presided at the organ on Sunday, pronounced it a perfect instrument, a view in which those who had had the pleasure of hearing it perfectly coincide." -Andrew Henderson
