Marian Fathers Home: Chapel
19109 Georgia Ave
Brookville, MD

Notes

2023-08-16 - The original installation was in the Marion Fathers Home. This was a large ranch style single floor house built in the 1970's. Part of it included a chapel. The simple cube shaped enclosure sat on the floor with no visible pipes. The front of the box had two grilles which swung open like doors as did the shade frame. In the early 2000's the facility was converted to an assisted care home, and the organ was sold to Holy Trinity Episcopal, Churchville, MD. Ray Brunner was contracted to add 12 bass pipes to the Principal rank and fabricate a "gothic" style facade to harmonize with the 1870s stone church. The instrument stands on the main floor of the church just to the left of the Chancel. The console stands in front of the case. The new case blends well with the building, and the organ sounds good. The church had an early 20th century Moller, when it failed, it was replaced with an electronic. Like with many country churches, mice are a constant threat to the organ. -Steven Bartley
