2023-09-10 - From *The Gazette* (Montreal, April 13, 1932): "Dr. Frederick H. Blair, organist of the Church of St. Andrew & St. Paul, Montreal, was the recital organist at the opening of the new pipe organ of St. Andrew's Presybterian Church, St. Lambert, last night. A large congregation attended the inauguration ceremony. The organ, which is of electro-pneumatic action, is a two-manual instrument and was installed in the church by the pipe organ division of Jas. A. Ogilvy's Ltd., under the supervision of Harry T. Dickinson, manager of that department. The console of the organ is detached and the flexible cable connecting it to the organ allows the console to be moved at will, in the same manner as one might move a pianoforte. Another feature is the arrangement of the stops and pistons which caused great interest among visiting organists, especially the adaptability of the registers which make it possible to get the effects usually obtained on a three or four-manual instrument. The tonal parts of the organ were manufactured and voiced especially for Jas. A. Ogilvy's Ltd., by Messrs. Rogers and Co., of Leeds, England, and are of outstanding beauty and power." -Andrew Henderson
