2023-12-26 - From the *Niagara Falls Review* (May 26, 1936): "The new pipe organ with Deagan cathedral electric chimes, built by the Wicks Pipe Organ Company of Highland, Illinois, was installed last week in the beautiful Mount Carmel College ... The splendid installation work was done by Homer Kitt and Son, organ expert service men of Woodstock, Ontario. Last evening the opening organ recital was played by Dr. Frederic Tristram Egener, organist-baritone of Cronyn Memorial Church, London, Canadian distributor for The Wicks Co. The Wicks Company are the sole builders and patentees of the Direct Electric Action, which does away with all perishable leather pneumatics and allows an organ with a large number of pipes to be placed in a small floor space. Another new Wicks Pipe organ with direct electric action and Cathedral chimes is now being built for the new Hetherington Funeral Chapel, Victoria Avenue. The capacity audience last evening was impressed by the fine tone qualities of the new organ and the masterful playing of Dr. Egener. Following is the programme: Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Bach; Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Bach; Funeral March and Chant Seraphique, Guilmant; baritone solo, "The Lord is My Light," Allitson; In Paradisum, Dubois; Intermezzo, Calaerts; Ave Maria, Schubert; Festival Toccata, Fletcher; God Save the King." -Andrew Henderson
