2024-02-29 - The instrument is a rebuilding and enlargement of the 1958, 3/49 Schantz Organ Co. Opus 352, which was relocated from the Chestnut Street Congregational Church in Worcester (OHS Database ID# 48050) when that churched merged with the Central Congregational Church to form the United Congregational Church. The present organ has electro-pneumatic wind chest. It is a 3 manual and pedal organ with 54 ranks and 2922 pipes. The 1987 Berkshire organ replaced the 1958 Austin Organs, Inc Opus 1804-R, which is no longer extant.
