Notes

2024-03-30 - When the historic downtown church was torn down in the late 1960s to make way for an arterial extension which ripped through the center of town, the congregation built a new modern church near Webb's Crossing at the edge of the town limits in North Hornell which was dedicated in 1971. Organ technician Lauren Peckham of Elmira, moved the organ to the new building where it is presumably still extant. At some point since December 2021, the "United Methodist Church of Hornell" renamed itself the "Webb's Crossing Bible Church", although their website still implies an affiliation with the United Methodist conference. One can hear an organ being used minimally during televised services streamed on the church's Facebook page, out of range of the altar-facing cameras. -Scot Huntington
