2024-08-04 - From the contract: "All stops marked 'x' to be entirely new, 6 stops of which will be additional pipes and will increase the power of the instrument very much. The whole organ to be reconstructed and made to our modern standard, new actions, increased bellows capacity, and entirely new case to include 3 seats for ministers and to have all front pipes decorated in colors leaving the gold exposed where advisable. To rebuild organ according to forgoing specification and to furnish walnut case furnished in oil one thousand four hundred and forty $1,440. To supply ash or chestnut case our price will be $60.00 less or 1380." It is noted from the annual report of the congregation of 1892 that the cost of rebuilding the organ was $1,440, so the walnut case was no doubt supplied. - Andrew Henderson -Andrew Henderson
