Notes

2024-08-14 - Reported in the Baltimore Sun, August 19, 1852. Factory demonstration and the organ was to go out to Portsmouth to be installed by "Mr. Berger himself." At the head of the article they identify "St. Peter's Catholic Church" in Portsmouth, Va. However there was never a Catholic church by that name. At the end of the article it is mentioned that the organ would be in a "peculiar location in St. Paul's..." St. Paul's was established 1813 in Portsmouth, Virginia. See DOCUMENTS tab for the article with a listing of stops, but not identified as to which division they belonged. Several rebuildings and burnings result in the current building on the same lot being the 5th building. -Paul R. Marchesano
