2012-01-04 - Updated through online information from Bill Czelusniak. -- Emendations here stem from clarifications of our move of this organ. Recit Mixture actually is III, not II as listed, hence the increase in number of ranks and pipes. At the time of the move, this organ was thought to be the oldest surviving Casavant in the U.S. Since then, Opus 74 from Woonsocket RI has been located, saved, and put into restoration (2012) for the South Congregational Church, Amherst, Massachusetts. It is 2m, 16r, identical on paper to Opus 78, save for lack of Pedale Flute 8'. Opus 78 is installed in twin cases; Opus 74 is self-contained in a single casework. -Database Manager
