2024-12-30 - This entry represents the moving and reinstallation of an existing organ for the same (merged) congregation in a new location. Identified through online information from Scot Huntington (December 30, 2024): In 1969, the Pawcatuck Congregational Church and the Broad St. Christian Church in nearby Westerly, RI merged. They abandoned the 19th-century Greek Revival buildings used by each congregation and built a new church in Pawcatuck designed by the now famous architect Paul Mitarachi, but at the beginning of career. The Wicks was moved into the new church without alteration except the formerly enclosed Great and Pedal were unenclosed and "functionally" displayed. It is believed Potter-Rathbun may have moved the organ, but in any case they maintained the organ until the firm closed in 2021. At some point in the recent past, Potter-Rathbun upgraded the console with a Peterson combination action. The organ is in need of renovation, but in regular use and otherwise unaltered. -Scot Huntington
