Schuelke Organ Co. in Milwaukee mit einem Kostenaufwand von $3800 erbaute prächtige neue Orgel errichtet worden. (San Antonio, Tex. — In the chapel of the local "Academy of the Incarnate Word," a fine new organ has been erected by the well-known W. Schuelke Organ Co. of Milwaukee at a cost of $3,800.) At the time the organ was erected, the Academy of the Incarnate Word was "a boarding school for young ladies and girls, conducted by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word"; "A large eastern annex and a beautiful chapel, of Romanesque style of architecture, were completed in May, 1907" (Jules A. Appler's General Directory and Blue Book of the City of San Antonio, 1909, 9–10). According to "University of the Incarnate Word" (Wikipedia), college courses were added in 1909, and the name was changed to College and Academy of the Incarnate Word. The school became fully coeducational in 1971, and the school officially became known as the University of the Incarnate Word in 1996. The fate of the Schuelke organ is unknown. -Charles Eberline
