Notes

2025-02-26 - This entry is believed to represent the installation of a new organ. Identified through online information from Andrew Henderson (February 26, 2025): The Malone Farmer (Oct 21, 1914) states: “The dedicatory services of the new pipe organ at Notre Dame church Thursday evening were impressive and beautiful … All were carried away with the splendid tone of the organ purchased of Cassavant [sic] Freres, Montreal, and Mr. A. P. Couture, of Plattsburgh, played it with a master hand.” The instrument does not appear on either the Ste. Hyacinthe or South Haven opus lists. -Andrew Henderson

2025-02-27 - From the 'History' page of the parish website, " In the spring of 1872, yet another building was begun, and Mass was said in its basement for eleven years as the parish recovered from financial disaster. Work resumed in 1880, and the completed church was dedicated on October 22, 1882. This church burned on July 2, 1968. -Jim Stettner
