2025-03-10 - From the Brantford Daily Expositor (July 11, 1891): "The magnificent new organ of the Park Baptist church has been completed and placed in position. It will be used at tomorrow's services and will probably draw together a large congregation. The new organ replaces an old reed one which had done service since the opening of the church. The managers feeling that it was inadequate for their requirements and did not fill the church with sufficient volume of sound, determined to procure a new one. About six months ago tenders were asked for and the contract awarded to Messrs. S. R. Warren & Son, Toronto, at an estimated cost of $2,000. The parts came along on Thursday, 2nd July, and since that date the contractors' employees have been engaged putting them together. The organ is what is called a two manual, and is built in its main parts in chestnut and beautifully grained. The key board is in ebony and ivory, and is particularly neat and easily commanded. There are nineteen stops, the four foot-stops in the swell being modulated so as not to over-assert themselves in the general tone. Looking at the organ from the church it has a handsome appearance. The pipes are done in cream color, and are shaped like huge spears standing on their points, and are emblazoned with strange devices in gold. They rise from the extreme wing of the organ towards the centre, where they recede again into the shape of a crescent. The tone of the organ is much admired. In this respect it is even and sweet throughout, and having nothing harsh about it. The lower tones are strong and resonant, while in the higher registers are particularly sweet and clear ..." -Andrew Henderson
