2025-03-22 - According to correspondence from First Presbyterian Church, Weedsport, to the Carnegie Corporation, a second-hand organ built ca. 1848 by Simons [sic] of Boston was purchased ca. 1878 from a church in Syracuse, NY and moved to Weedsport, presumably unaltered. Charles Viner was among the organ builders under consideration for rebuilding the organ, and an original specification can be conjectured from his correspondence also included in the Carnegie Corporation files [See DOCUMENTS tab]. The awarding of the contract, however, was eventually given to J. W. Steere & Co. -Andrew Henderson
