Notes

2025-05-02 - This entry represents the installation of a used organ. Identified through online information from Mark A. Smith (May 2, 2025): Opus 5261 was removed from the Masonic Temple's Daughters of the Nile room in Rochester, NY. by members of the First United Church of West Webster in Webster, NY. They rebuilt and enlarged it with material from their 1937 Kohl instrument, and rededicated it on March 4, 2000. (source=dedication recital program) Subsequently, the congregation disbanded, and on July 25, 2021 the Webster Town Zoning board discussed the conversion of the church building into a single-family residence. (source=Webster Citizens Action League Facebook) This plan fell through, and the building is for sale (5/2/2025) with commercial zoning. The status of the organ is unknown. -Jim Stettner

2025-05-02 - The building has evidently been re-seeded as a new Methodist congregation called New Life United Methodist Church. -Jim Stettner

Stoplist

West Webster FUMC members removed Moller Opus 5261 from the Rochester Masonic Temple and rebuilt/reinstalled it in 3 chambers behind the false front of the FUMC sanctuary. Two ranks were retained from the church's previous Kohl 3-rank unit organ of 1937. (The Kohl cost $1475.) Source: From the "Pipe Organ Dedication Recital" program brochure dated March 4, 2000

Great (The GREAT division is located in an elevated position above a staircase, behind the right side of the false front wall of the sanctuary. ) Open Diapason 8 (The Open Diapason stoptab alternately engages the 8' Dulciana when the "Second Chorus" stoptab is also activated. 1-10 are planted on an offset chest.), Clarabella 8 (This is a full-length open wood stop. 1-4 are planted on an offset chest.), Gemshorn 8 (1-4 are tubed off the end of the GREAT chest. ), Octave 4 (This stop is the rescaled Open Diapason from the church's 1937 Kohl 3-rank unit organ. The Octave 4' stoptab is the repurposed / reengraved 4' Gemshorn stoptab. The Octave stoptab alternately engages the 4' Dulciana when the "Second Chorus" stoptab is also activated. ), Flauto Traverso 4, Fifteenth 2 (The Fifteenth stoptab was repurposed / reengraved from the original GREAT Tremulant stoptab. See the SWELL Tremulant stoptab for details. The Fifteenth stoptab alternately engages the 2' Dulciana when the "Second Chorus" stoptab is also activated.), Gemshorn 4 (There is no actual stoptab, as the original 4' Gemshorn stoptab was utilized for the added 4' Octave. The 4' Gemshorn is available as a blind stop in the crescendo sequence and Sforzando. ), Second Chorus (The GREAT to GREAT 16' coupler rocker was repurposed / reengraved to provide the Second Chorus feature. Second Chorus plays the 85-note Dulciana from the church's 1937 Kohl 3-rank unit organ. 1-12 are mounted on an offset chest sitting on the floor of the GREAT chamber. 13-85 are mounted on a rebuilt supply house unit chest Kohl provided.
