2025-05-05 - According to "The Meaning of the Stones: the Life and Times of Wall Street United Church, Brockville, Ontario (1997) a Warren organ was installed in 1883 at a cost of $3,959 with the church's original Warren organ taken in trade. In October 1894 it was reported that the organ "required an overhaul, and the church awarded the contract to the Warren Company of Montreal." The church was enlarged in 1896 and the organ was completed dismantled and reinstalled in a new choir loft. The organ was damaged in a 1906 fire "which topped the organ pipes. The whole had to be rebuilt, but it was ready to be installed again by May." It is likely that Casavant Freres reused much of the Warren organ in its Opus 261 (1906). -Andrew Henderson
