2025-06-21 - Notes from the contract (April 24, 1928): "We beg to enclose a complete specification of new church organ of two manuals containing 1006 pipes. 19 stops 8 couplers and other accessories. The action to be tubular pneumatic action. Console on opposite side of chancel, quick response to the touch and thoroughly reliable at all times. All the pipes at present in the organ to be used, to be re voiced on the new pressure and brought to the modern pitch now generally in use, in addition to present pipes there will be five new stops of a distinctive quality of tone, 293 pipes in all. Our price for the above work to be completed about October $3,400. Regarding the elec fan blower if it should be found present blower is insufficient we will replace it with a larger machine for $50.00 extra the present blower to become our property." The *Toronto Star* reported on December 17, 1928, that a new organ at St,. Matthew's Church was dedicated the previous day. -Andrew Henderson
