2005-09-04 - Online update from David Kinyon -- My first visit, all of the Great, part of the pedal and part of the Choir were out for repairs. Second time organ was in full glory. Wonderful sound in an almost too live room. Console is in a recessed gallery high up and to the left of the high altar. Was in good shape when I performed, although it doesn't receive much maintenance. Basilica has been on the verge of closing for sometime. Organ receives very little use last I knew -Database Manager
2007-06-27 - Updated through on-line information from Mary Gifford. -- In addition to the 57 ranks, also has a harp (disconnected) and chimes (taken down from their frames). As of this writing (2007) the organ is carefully maintained by the Servite community and is used for some Masses as well as organ recitals and other concerts. -- 30-note chests in pedal division, 32-note pedalboarded added when the Austin console was put in. -Database Manager
2008-11-08 - Updated through online information from Mary Gifford. -- The 4' Violina in the choir division had, at some point, been re-pitched to 2 2/3' by moving the pipes down and adding 7 pipes at the top. In 2008, the rank was restored to its original pitch by moving the pipes back up and replacing the missing pipes with vintage string pipes of the same scale and composition. The organ is, now, tonally unaltered. -Database Manager
