2004-10-30 - Rebuild of twice altered Hook. New windchests. Action and console retained with alterations from Andover 1966. Moved to original position in rear gallery. Re-dedicated by Mark Brombaugh, 4/23/95. -Database Manager

2023-04-08 - This was essentially a deconstructive restoration, returning the organ to its 1857 tonal condition with all the surviving Hook material reused, plus the addition of a high-pitched neo-baroque Mixture. The aluminum action from Andover was discarded. Various recycled components were located through Alan Laufman and the Organ Clearing House. The down-sized organ was returned to its rear gallery location, and the case wings added by Gilbert & Butler were removed, restoring the case to its original size. The original rosewood faux graining hidden under several layers of paint, was reinterpreted in a contemporary styling. With the abrupt closure of Central Baptist downtown in 2020, the congregation merged with First Baptist in Norwichtown in 2021. The church is now named: First Congregational and Central Baptist Church. -Scot Huntington
