2008-01-11 - Updated through on-line information from John McCraney. -- The stoplist on this site shows a blank knob on Swell. The original knob said either Oboe or Oboe Gamba 8 (reedless pipes that were in place and working). The list on this site says that all three Pedal stops were borrows. The Pedal borrowed the Swell 16 Bourdon. The 16 Pedal Diapason is open wood, with the Pedal 8' flute being an extension of the 16. The choir was console preparation only. Swell pedal mechanical. The console worked quite well except for the Choir keys, which did not even play with the Sw-Ch couplers. Some notes were dead, and the combination action was sluggish. The console was moved to the basement several years ago, the rest is still in situ, but a Johannus is now used along with piano. The console was a beautiful piece of workmanship in excellent condition except for normal age-related problems (e.g. pneumatics to activate combination). I believe the keys and possibly the coupler tablets were ivory--sharps ebony. -- Manual ranks have 73 pipes for super octave couplers -Database Manager
