2013-07-23 - Updated through online information from Jim Lewis. -- According to Los Angeles Archdiocese information, this organ dates back as far as 1608. In 1687, the organ and sanctuary furnishings were donated to Church of St. Phillip Neri in Ezcaray, Spain. The organ and associated furnishings were dismantled in 1925 and purchased by Pasadena, Ca., antiquarian and decorator Raymond Gould. At his death, the materials were acquired for use in a proposed Los Angeles Cathedral that was never constructed. The chancel furnishings are now in the chapel of the San Fernando Mission and the organ case (without windchest or pipework) is on display in the Mission museum. -Database Manager
