2009-02-25 - Updated through online information from Keith Williams. -- E-mail from Mother Miriam at the Convent: "When the Sisters moved from Peekskill in 2003, we sold the Roosevelt tracker organ to a Roman Catholic Pius X retreat house in Connecticut. It was a very strange transaction. The priest running the place brought a crew of volunteers to dismantle the organ façade and trucked that away. They promised to return to take the pipes and mechanism and never did, even after the buyer of the property offered to allow them on the property to get it! So I am happy to say that we got the full asking price for the organ, but I am sorry to say that working parts of the organ were destroyed when the interior of the deconsecrated chapel was gutted. A sad ending to a beautiful instrument. Faithfully yours, Mother Miriam, CSM St. Mary's Convent" -Database Manager

2015-12-04 - Updated through online information from Eleanor A. Congdon.
Organ had facade dismanteled as described, but rest (keyboard, pipes, inner workings) have sat. In 2003, according to nuns, the leather parts had dried to the point of needing replacement. Whether it can be restored needs to be assessed by a skilled organ-builder; the decision whether to junk it or try to save it depends on the property owner getting accurate information and/or expressions of interest. (Last part is from personal communication with development officer.) -Database Manager

2018-06-23 - Updated by Eugene R Walter, listing this website as a source of information: https://www.memberleap.com/members/classifieds/classifieds.php?orgcode=CHOT.
Although the facade and casework have been removed, based on an ad posted on the Church Organ Trader website, the bulk of the instrument is still in place and is being offered for FREE to anyone willing to remove it.
-Database Manager
