2015-02-16 - Updated through online information from John J. Miller. -- Organ was purchased on November 21, 1902 for $1000 as recorded in the Vogelpohl & Spaeth company ledger now part of the collection of the Brown County Historical Society. Electric blower added at some point.
Original hand pumped and single reservoir winding system was removed c. 1970 presumably by Art Aadland (Valley Springs, SD) and replaced with a three reservoir system. Also new plywood walkboards were installed.
There is significant damage to cone tuned treble pipework which was done by former organ maintenance personnel. The least severe cases were corrected by John Miller on December 13, 2014. There is also evidence of collapsing pipework especially in lower notes of 8' registers. Key action is out of adjustment due to wear and couplers are barely functional. However, the organ still leads worship well and is a joy to play for services. -Database Manager
