The interior is in good condition, yet it was at one time very elaborately decorated. The liturgical center of the church has been brought forward from the white marble-walled sanctuary with its three carved altars and is presently located in the transept crossing on a raised platform. The parishioners are very proud of their beautiful church. The choir loft has a silent organ housed in two chambers with graceful pipe facades which flank a wide stained-glass window depicting religious events of American history. The Austin Organ, opus 1297, was built in 1925 with twin consoles (one for the gallery, one for the sanctuary floor). The consoles show evidence of later alterations, possibly by Austin. Use of the organ has been abandoned within the past five to ten years, according to the friendly church custodian. As of this writing, a substitute electronic appliance is employed. Sadly, several piles of bent pipes are strewn about the loft. The area is presently home to a "church cat."
