NOTES
The organ is free-standing and housed behind a large front façade of which both the pipes
and the surrounding wooden structure are highly decorated. The lower wooden case front is
of American walnut. The keydesk is attached and projecting. The 5-sectional façade contains
33 pipes arranged: 4 - 5 - 15 - 5 - 4. The outer flats of 4 pipes each are from the Ped. 16
ft. Grand Open Diapason, and the mouths face inward. The middle flats of 5 pipes each are
from the Gr. 8 ft. Open Diapason (4 pipes) and the Gr. 8 ft. Viol d'Gamba (1 pipe). The
center flat of 15 pipes contains 7 more Open Diapason pipes and notes 2 thru 10 of the Viol
d'Gamba.

The organ was originally built for First Baptist in Los Angeles. It was moved twice, but re-
mained in the third home of First Baptist when they moved in 1927. It was used by the several
denominations who occupied that building in the years that followed, but eventually fell into
disrepair and disuse.

In 1980, Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Edmonds, WA. acquired the organ through the Organ
Clearing House of Harrisville, NH., and it was installed here in 1981 by Bond Pipe Organs of
Portland, OR. after refurbishing and slight modifications.
