Notes

2004-10-30 - Building was originally the West Side Moravian Church. Steeple struck by lightning in Sep 2004. Damage to organ unknown. -Database Manager

2012-08-07 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- Based on my visit to the church on August 5, 2012 Everything on this organ is in current working condition. I checked each rank and all pipes sounded. While it was not in perfect tune, it was not horribly out of tune either. When both couplers were used between the Swell and Great there was some noticeable heaviness of action in the lowest two octaves which required a firm playing pressure or the resistance could cause notes not sounding. Considering the organ is rarely used by the church in regular services it is amazing everything works as well as it does, or maybe that is why everything is working. -Database Manager

2012-08-15 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- On August 12, 2012 I made another close inspection inside the organ case and was able to find the opus number. It is 1201. I found this number written in pencil by the same hand in four different places on the inside of the organ case. On the inside of the door to the inside of the case at the top I found a name (not readable) and this number. I think as was the custom with the Hinners company the company representative that came to help the church assemble the organ would write their name and the opus number inside the case. I have pictures of all the occurrences of the number 1201. Pictures are not great but good enough to read the 1201. -Database Manager
