2022-03-21 - For its 1937 building, First Baptist first rented a "new Kimball self-contained Pipe Organ with detached console, Gothic design," which, according to a letter of 4 April 1942, they were considering buying; they eventually did. In 1950, the present or-gan was installed, with the Kimball organ installed in Miller Auditorium and playable from the console of the main organ as well as from its own. The Kimball, which had four ranks, was re-moved in July 1977 to the Denver residence of James Bratton; in the 1980's, he sold it to James Hill for his residence in Denver. It exists there today, rebuilt and enlarged. -- from *1998 OHS Handbook* -Paul R. Marchesano
