It was placed in twin cases in the rear gallery. In 1975, Balcom and Vaughan was contracted to make tonal changes to the instrument and to provide a new console. The console was by Klann. The tonal orientation was altered from orchestral to American Classic. The original Mudler-Hunter chests were retained. On the Great, the 4' Octave occupied the original 8' Doppel Flute toeboard. The II-III Mixture occupied the original 8' Viola d'Gamba toeboard, capped. The original Swell 8' Clarinette [sic] was moved to the Great and occupied the original 8' English Horn toeboard. The new 8' Principal was placed on new unit chests. The other original ranks remained on their original toeboards. On the Swell, the original 8' Stopped Diapason, 8' Salicional, and 8' Voix Celeste remained on their original toeboards. The new 4' Spitz Principal went on the original 8' Violin Diapason toeboard. The original 4' Flute Harmonic was reset as a 2' stop on its original toeboard. The new 1-1/3' Nasat was placed on the original 8' Aeoline toeboard. And the new 8' Trumpet went on the original 8' Clarinet toeboard. The original independent 16' Bourdon pipes and chests were retained, but only 1-32 were used for the Pedal 16' Lieb- lich Gedeckt. No changes were made to the existing Pedal ranks other than to make the original Mudler- Hunter Great 8' Open Diapason into the Pedal 16' Open Diapason. The Pedal stoplist was augmented with borrows from the new Great 8' Principal. Sources: Balcom and Vaughan files; extant organ before removal for rebuilding in 1992. [Received from James R.
