2013-02-15 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The organ incorporates several ranks from the previous Abbey organ which was a Hook & Hastings (Op. 1442, 1890) originally built for Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Chicago, and later electrified and rebuilt by Kilgen for a location in Texas (according to notes by Eugene M. Nye - 1960's Tonal Director for Balcom and Vaughan Pipe Organs in Seattle, WA). -Database Manager
2021-02-19 - Several Pedal stops stand on electro-pneumatic windchests; these are controlled by a Solid State Organ Systems MultiSystem which is also used to allow this instrument to play from the Chancel Organ keydesk (with the exception of the Swell shades which operate mechanically from the shoe). The slider chests are fitted with supplemental electric pulldowns for this purpose only - the coupler key action is mechanical. Slider and coupler action is electric, not mechanical. The Zimbelstern, while rung electrically, also has a wind-powered rotating star. The twelve pipes of the 32' Contra Posaune extension were added by the original builder a few years after the initial installation. -Joe O'Donnell
