2016-12-06 - Updated through online information from Michael B. Hoerig: This Emmons Howard organ was professionally crated and removed from Burnside United Methodist Church, East Hartford, CT, sometime in the 1960s, by Mr. Robert Knueppel of Mequon, WI. He stored this instrument on his property until about 1985, when it was donated to St. Josaphat Basilica, Milwaukee, WI. I installed the organ in the Basilica's lower church and made minor repairs in keeping with the instrument's historic unaltered condition. A facade was procured through the Organ Clearing House. The organ's restoration was never completed. To the best of my knowledge, the Emmons Howard was returned to Burnside United Methodist Church recently, upon their request. St. Josaphat's lower church is now home to a Kimball 'boxcar' organ, restored by Buzard, originally built for the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Chicago, IL. -Database Manager
