2019-12-15/2019-12-15 - From Organ Database Builders editor Stephen Hall, December 14, 2019. — Text taken from the patent: My invention has for its object to provide an automatic solo attachment or coupler applicable to reed organs, for the purpose of giving sub-bass (16 feet tone) effects without the use of pedals, and also when required for giving soprano-solo effects. By means of this invention the effects of a pedal organ are obtained in an automatic manner without any conscious effort on the part of the player. The solo couplet attachment can be built into any type of suction reed organ.... [italics added] The patent clearly states that this invention was for use on a reed organ (harmonium), not a pipe organ.
