2018-05-07/2019-04-29 - From the OHS Database Builders Listing Editor, November 8, 2015. - Daniel F. Abrahamson received his degree in sacred music from Illinois Wesleyan University. He gained experience in organ building with a local firm and later at the factory of the Wicks Organ Company, before moving to Kansas and starting at the Reuter firm in 1961. He was associate tonal director, voicing and doing tonal finishing for most of the Reuter organs in the Lawrence area, as well as in other states. He was with Reuter for over 40 years, retiring in 2006. Abrahamson was also organist at the First United Methodist Church of Lawrence, Kansas from 1963 until 2006. In addition to playing the organ, he serviced it, and during his long tenure there, he enlarged the organ at First Methodist from 43 to 122 ranks.
