Prante, brother of Anthony M., Joseph G., and Nicholas A. Prante. He worked as a piano tuner in Lousiville, Kentucky, c. 1907-1922; he then established Louisville Pipe Organ Co. of Louisville, Kentucky, 1924. August Peter Prante died July 22, 1958 in Dallas, Texas, at approximately 72 years of age.
