Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). — William Verney established Verney Organ Co. of Mason City, Iowa, in 1900, as a representative of the Barckoff firm of Pomeroy, Ohio. He was with Burlington Organ Co. of Burlington, Iowa, by 1910, as general superintendent. He was later with W. W. Kimball firm of Chicago, Illinois; with Berry-Wood Co. of Kansas City, Kansas; and with the Casavant firm of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada in South Haven, Michigan, 1912 to at least 1916. Afterwards he was with Lyon & Healy in South Haven, Michigan, in sales, then with the Reuter firm of Lawrence, Kansas, also in sales. He held Patent #879,503; issued February 18, 1908, for a pneumatic chest design. Sources: The Diapason January 1916, 2.
