2016-11-24 - Updated through online information from Steven Bartley.
Organ installed when the building was first opened Sept 1960. The instrument was given by Jerome Benesch, a founding member of the Baltimore AGO, organist-musician, active in Baltimore during the early 20th century. In the 1930s, Mr. Benesch also provided the funds to rebuild the Stein-Roosevelt organ which is extant, but silent, in the earlier Eutaw Place location, and he owned a 2 manual Skinner organ in his home.

In recent years, the present Temple, underwent a renovation to its interior and the pews and bimah were moved from front to the rear of the building. Only the organ console was re-positioned to be closer to the bimah. The original location of the organ chambers remains as originally installed, which is behind a floor to ceiling grille which hid the choir and the organ. The organ is in original condition, and a good example of its period. The only detractor being the carpet in the building has dampened the instrument's impact. -Database Manager
