Notes

2005-04-06 - Identified through information in VolumeIV p. 124 of the Pilcher factory ledger and a list of Pilcher organs typed by William E. Pilcher of Louisville. See the document referenced below. -Database Manager

2005-05-05 - The instrument was revised and rebuilt several times, including some somewhat unsuccessful work done in the 1980s. It has now been replaced by an instrument by Barger & Nix. -Database Manager

2006-05-01 - Updated through online information from William Barger. -- This organ is the only pipe organ ever to be installed in Clay County, Alabama. The wind chests had electro-pneumatic primaries installed by Garvin Daniels in 1955 along with new keyboards and stop controls. In 1980, Howard Best converted the original chests to electro-mechanical action. This work was not satisfactory. In 2004, Barger & Nix built all-new electro-mechanical chests and enlarged the instrument. The data given here reflect the original size and design of the organ which remained the same until the 2004 rebuilding work. -Database Manager
