NOTES
The original W.W. Kimball Co. instrument was built ca. 1908 for the congregation's
previous edifice on the SE corner of Wall and Broadway. It was a 2-manual, 10-rank
organ on ventil chests with tubular-pneumatic playing action. It was installed in
a chamber with a stenciled facade. The Great was non-expressive and the Swell was
enclosed and expressive.

The organ was electrified in its original location in 1945 by Balcom and Vaughan
of Seattle, Washington as their opus 421. In 1963 it was moved to the new edifice
by Del Feely and John Timothy Flint of Northwest Organ Service. In March 1973, a
unit Diapason and a 4' Trumpet on new chests was added – again by Northwest Organ
Service, but now owned by Richard Warburton. The new additions must have been
problematic, because in 1974, Balcom and Vaughan had to rebuild and re-wire the
1973 chests.

In 1978, Balcom and Vaughan was contracted to enlarge the organ. This consisted of
one addition to both the Great and the Swell, plus the addition of a floating 4-rank
Choral organ playable from either manual or the Pedal via couplers. A new console was
also provided at this time. The work was done as their opus 421-A, and was completed
in September, 1978.

Stops marked in the preceding specification with an asterisk (*) indicate original
Kimball ranks on their original windchests. The Pedal 16' Gedeckt is the 16' Bourdon
on soft wind.
