2006-01-01 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- It is thought that this Kimball came from a theatre in Hood River, Oregon. But if this is the case, it seems likely that it was used when it arrived at the theatre. The Encyclopedia of the American Theatre Organ by David L. Junchen does not list a Kimball theatre organ as ever having been originally installed in Hood River, Oregon. The stoplist and the total number of ranks and pipes was provided in the files of William J. Bunch of Balcom and Vaughan. -Database Manager

Bunch in Seattle, Washington. The number of ranks and pipes was listed on Mr. Bunch's specification, but no pipe break-down was given. The exact nomenclature of stops and controls is not verifiable, and the organ has long since been replaced by two subsequent pipe organs. It was noted that this Kimball might have come from a theatre in Hood River, Oregon. If this is the case, it seems likely that the organ was already second-hand when it arrived in the theatre. The Encyclopedia of the Amerian Theatre Organ by David L. Junchen does not list a Kimball theatre organ as ever having been [originally] in- stalled in Hood River, Oregon. When the Kimball factory and offices burned in the 1950's, virtually all of the company's records were destroyed, and no complete opus list for the firm has ever been discovered. Sources: William J.
