2006-06-15 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The organ was free-standing and encased, and likely had an attached and projecting keydesk, though this is not confirmed. The organ was electrified in 1945 by Balcom and Vaughan without tonal changes save for the addition of a set of chimes and the increasing of the pedal compass from 30 to 32 notes. Notes in the B & V files seem to indicate that this organ was entirely under expression except for the 8' Open Diapason, and it isn't clear whether this was the entire rank or just the speaking façade pipes. The congregation later ceased operations and the church became Progressive Missionary Baptist. It is presumed that the organ was removed around this time, but its subsequent disposition is unknown. -Database Manager
