2008-01-30 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The published church history states on page 43: "In November, 1907, ground was broken for the new church and on January 10, 1909, the new church was dedicated at a cost of $43,356. Rev. Whitman of Seattle preached the Dedication sermon. A $6,000 Kimball pipe-organ was presented as a gift to the church by Mrs. Barge and was installed for the dedication of the church. Prof. Harry Sharpe was at the organ for the services and remained as organist and chorister for 12 years." The size of the organ given above (2/19) is from notes by Balcom and Vaughan Tonal Director, Eugene M. Nye who documented the organ at an unknown time prior to its replacement. His notes indicate it was purchased by C.L. [illegible] of [illegible] for $3,000.00. The Kimball was replaced by a new Wicks (half the size of the Kimball) in 1952. -Database Manager
