Notes

2007-03-08 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the relocating and reinstallation of a ca. 1865 organ originally built for Grace Episcopal Cathedral in San Francisco (possibly a Bergstrom). Replaced there in 1894. It may have gone to a church in Oakland, California before being relocated to St. Mark's Episcopal in Portland, Oregon. It was installed at St. Mark's by an undocumented person or builder. Speculation suggests William Wood - son of Detroit builder Granville Wood. It was replaced at St. Mark's in 1956 by a new Möller - at which time it was likely relocated here to St. Matthew's and rebuilt on new chests by Bill Blunk assisted by parishioners. -Database Manager
