2007-03-10 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- This is reportedly the last organ ever installed by Morton. Installation was in January, 1930. It was enlarged to 21 ranks at some time in the past. The organ was advertised for sale in the May 1973 issue of MUSIC, Vol. 10, No. 5, pg. 64: "ROBERT MORTON PIPE ORGAN, 3 manuals, 21 ranks including Cormopean, Oboe, Trumpet, Clarinet, French Horn, Vox Humana reed ranks. Currently in use. Has played numerous oratorios--Bach to Britten. Being replaced by a larger instrument. Offers invited." The organ was purchasd jointly by Terry Robson, Dick Raupach, and Gordon Potter, and was broken-up for parts. -Database Manager
