2007-04-12 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The Kimball was originally a 2/9 built for the New Everett Theatre on Colby Ave. in Everett, Washington. It was removed from the theatre in 1952 by Balcom and Vaughan and placed in storage. In 1956, it was rebuilt for installation at Queen Anne High School as their opus 620. A new three-manual classical console was provided. The original Kimball console was sold to Tom Endresen of Seattle, and was later acquired by an individual in Australia. In 1991-92, the organ was relocated by Balcom and Vaughan to Franklin High School in Seattle. It was installed with a new Peterson Multiplex relay. However, when ordering the relay, Balcom and Vaughan President - John K. Moir - forgot several stops in whole or in part. The Pedal 32' Resultant was omitted, and he told installation employees to turn the tablet over so that it would look like a blank preparation. Also ommitted was a driver board of sufficient compass to handle the Great 2' Fifteenth from the Violin - so that stop only plays for 49 notes. And the Great 1-3/5' Tierce from the unit flute had its top four pipes omitted, so it only plays for 57 notes. These pipes are all present and winded, but not playing. -Database Manager
