Stettner. -- Reinstallation of the 2/12 Kimball theatre organ - Opus 6651, 1922 - originally from the Liberty Theatre in Centralia, WA. and installed in Calvary's former church (Hollywood Temple) in 1942. Kimball amalgamated with a used Wurlitzer "215 Special" - Opus 697, 1923 - originally built for the Hollywood Theatre in Hollywood, California and later famous for being the Lorin Whitney residence/studio organ in Glendale, California. The installation in Seattle includes a small 5-rank Echo division placed in an antiphonal tower chamber. A new classical console was provided, and the Wurlitzer console was sold to Rick and Clayton Parks for use at the Elsinore Theatre in Salem, OR. Disposition of the Kimball console is unknown. The rebuilt/enlarged organ was dedicated Sunday, June 28, 1970. The guest organist was Lorin Whitney. -Database Manager
2015-04-21 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the addition of four new pipe ranks (Saxophone, Kinura, Trumpet, Orchestral Oboe) and windchests. The organ will receive a new Uniflex relay system. The console will have added pistons. A complete toy counter has been added which will play from buttons in an added pull-out drawer. Second-touch contacts are being added to the Accomp. manual. -Database Manager
