2008-04-07 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the addition of a "215 Spec" WurliTzer (Op. 697, 1923) to the existing 1942 Kimball/Balcom and Vaughan. The WurliTzer had originally been built for the Hollywood Theatre in Hollywood, CA and had later been placed in the Hollywood, CA residence of well-known theatre organist Lorin Whitney as his studio organ. A new, 3-man. Balcom and Vaughan classical console replaced the existing Calvary Temple Kimball console. And the WurliTzer console was sold to Rick and Clayton Parks of Salem, OR for use in the Elsinore Theatre in that city. It was later acquired for the Schwanke residence in Salem, but was sold yet again in very recent years. An Echo division was also installed at Calvary - placed in a chamber in the church's tower. The organ was dedicated by none other than Lorin Whitney. -Database Manager
