2023-02-10 - Opus 1653, contracted for on August 8, 1927, consisted of two manuals, eighteen ranks, at a cost of $20,875. It was to have been shipped around December r for installation by February 1, 1928, but was not shipped until January I I , r928. Duo-Art (automatic) and Solo (semiautomatic) players were provided. Manual compass was sixty-one notes; pedal compass was thirty-two notes. The Tower Chimes were intended to eventually play bells in the exterior campanile. A five-horsepower Orgoblo blower was provided. The following year eight ranks were added at a cost of $3,500: String F (scale 57, 73 pipes), 8' French Horn (73 pipes), IV-V Mixture (275 pipes), and Pedal 161 Deep String (32 pipes). A $75.00 commission was paid to J.P. Cave, an Indianapolis organ maintainer. In 1936 Aeolian-Skinner installed a new remote combination action. -- *2007 OHS Atlas* -Paul R. Marchesano
