2022-02-11 - The Burlington organ of this small church (set in the middle of rural Minnesota farm fields) had lapsed into silence. It was restored in 1983 by Arthur J. Kurtzman, Jr. (1938-2014) of Avon, MN. The mechanical action linkage was repaired or replaced with similar materials as required. Some revoicing of pipework was done where necessary to correct problems, but the character of the original speech was carefully preserved. The mechanical action was, and remains, quite heavy, making playing of coupled manuals a truly heroic exertion. I played the rededication recital in September of 1983. -Stephen Rosenberg
