2017-09-16 - Updated by Steven Bartley, who maintains the organ.<br> Around 1980 Moller was contracted to update the organ. It appears that the local Moller rep did the mechanical rebuild on site, as opposed to the standard Moller method of dismantling the organ and shipping it to Hagerstown for a through renovation. The original chests and mechanisms were reused with no alterations, and new ranks of pipes supplanted old pipes. For the Swell this was more successful, as far as tuning is concerned, but the Great received a 1' mixture which is buried in between larger ranks. Both divisions are enclosed and sit side by side at the rear of the balcony. Some of the tonal revisions have proved useful, while others not so much. Though the placement of the organ, in a rear gallery is good, the dead acoustics of the room and a low arch intruding on the balcony ceiling dampen the effect of the organ. -Database Manager
