Notes

2008-09-13 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- Josiah Leavitt was an M.D. in Boston. The organ was relocated in 1801 to the new (present) building - and served there until 1834 when it was replaced with a 2-manual instrument built by Joseph Alley. The Leavitt was rebuilt by Richard P. Morss for First Church in Belfast, Maine and shipped to them. But the ship foundered and the organ and all other cargo sank and was lost.
