2022-03-07 - There is no longer a Methodist church in Oxford. The congregation was worshiping in a post-WWII building until some recent point when the building was sold to a pentacostal group now named the Foundation Church of Oxford. The fate of this organ is unknown. The contract was signed Sept. 11, 1911, and the organ was shipped just two months later on the 16th of Nov. 1911. The ledger entry states: "$2200. Square piano and Reed organ". It is unclear if these instruments were taken in trade, or supplied in addition to the pipe organ. The case was quartered oak, the action was tubular-pneumatic with a detached console, and the wind was raised by a water motor. -Scot Huntington
